Bible Study Fellowship

Last year my friend Liz invited me to try out Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) - a structured, interdenominational, in-depth Bible study. (That's a mouthful!) Each year BSF offers a study that classes in more than 39 countries participate in - men, women and children.

When Liz told me about BSF I was a little weary because of the time commitment (30 weeks; Sept. - May). It also has a reputation of being pretty rigorous. I was SO nervous because I knew little about the Bible and of course I didn't want to look like a fool in front of my small group.

After the first class I was hooked and am so grateful to Liz for that invitation. Last year we did the Study of Moses and I learned so much. That's another other post. :) The women in my small group were so amazing. We had everyone from beginner (that's me) to advanced in our group and not once did I feel out of place. Each Monday night we met for two hours for small group and lecture. After each lecture we're given questions and readings to complete throughout the week. This encourages daily Bible study.

This year we're studying Revelation and I can't wait to get started tomorrow night. I'd like to share along the way what I've learned, so stay tuned :)

"Blessed is the one who reads the words for his prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near."
- Revelation 1:3 (NIV84)
