Scripture Memory Verse - Revelation 3:5 (NIV)
"The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels."

Day One
What did you learn from the lecture that makes a difference in your thinking or actions?
Like many lectures and notes, I had a HUGE takeaway that made a difference in my life. We talked about repentance and how a changed heart results in a U-Turn in direction, towards God. There are three types of repentance:

  1. Immediate repentance of the sin is the renouncing of the sin and turning to God
  2. Partial repentance is when we feel badly about what we've done, but only make a partial U-Turn toward God (and will most likely commit the sin again)
  3. Unwilling to repent and change direction is when you chose to continue to sin

This really made me stop and look at how I live my life. Honestly, at best, I'm a partial "repenter" (made that word up) and I see that I need to do better.

What help did you receive from the notes?
Once again the theme of repentance jumped out at me in the notes. You should know this was not the formal theme of the lesson, but I must have a guilty conscience or something because that's what I got from it. I read that, "If you are caught in sin, ask God to give you the desire to obey Him. Believe He will. Repent. Encourage those around you to repent. Then praise Him for his mercy."

This reminds me to pray consistently and constantly.

Day Six
What have you learned about God in this week's study?
I learned that God loves us so much he wants to reward us with salvation and the crown of life and righteousness. He wants us there and shows us grace, mercy and love daily. We just need to have faith and live in His word.

What have you learned about yourself?
Repent. I learned that I need to work on how I'm repenting and therefore how I'm living.

{Please note that what I got from this lesson is not necessarily the same as what others did. People can get very different takeaways from the scripture and questions based on prior knowledge, life situations, faith, etc.}
